Below is an email recieved by the club, and as stated 'all comments are welcome', although more constructive comments are prefered! 

Your email  venueclashers@yahoo.co.uk Subjectvenue clash Message Hi, In your post for this venue on soulsource you state, and I quote,  'We apologize for any conflict with other local venues this is truly unintentional' When you state this are you saying that you are totally unaware that Lowton have been holding their soul night on the second Friday of the month for the past 12 YEARS or more? Hmmm... possible I suppose. So now that it has been brought to your attention that your night definitely DOES CONFLICT WITH ANOTHER LOCAL SOUL NIGHT, does this mean that you will now move your night to one of the other Friday night's in the month - of which there are 3? Because the way I look at it - if you mean what you say, and you really do apologize for any conflict with other local venues and that it is truly unintentional - then surely the news of this clash will mean you looking to one of the other Fridays in the month, for any future dates? And to continue on the second Friday of the month means that statement is just bullshit.

Thank you for your email, we at Birchley St Marys appreciate all correspondence, negative or otherwise. Below you will find the statement from soul source, copied as it stands, which has been, as shown, for the last 12 months.

We stand by our statement, we do apologise and it was unintentional, but this does not mean that we will be changing our date.  I find it hard to understand just where the 'Bullshit' lies....
We will be at the same venue same time every month.
I will be posting your email on the site, along with all the comments we have recieved in the past.

But seeings as you obviously are well aware of the clash, and the fact that you carry on and hold your event on the same night regardless, makes your statement an out and out lie does it not?

Can I just mention that there should be a question mark and not a full stop at the end of that sentence.
 
Oh, and as for having my flyer removed from your site? (it's 'from' and not 'form' btw) - I
do not have a flyer.

Although I'm loving the literacy lesson, it's quite picky, don't you think?
As much as I would love to continue our riveting dialogue, I'm a little busy preparing for our first anniversary, which is on the second Friday of the month, so I suggest you find yourself a forum, log on and slag off the club there.  As for the flyer, I'm glad it's not yours, I'm sure the guys at Lowton wouldn't want to look so petty.

Dear Webby, Gray,  Ann,  Julie, I have just read the comments made by well, what can i say PILOCK. As a couple that dont live on your side of the water, we travel all over the North West. Going to Venues, some are good some are poor but its not the Venue that makes a club its the people and the Music, that takes your soul,. Your club is one of the best we have ever been to all the people are friendly and make you welcome. i would like to remind the anonymous, person that it costs myself and my wife a lot of money to travel the north west as we stay over. 9th May 2008  Just a quick word to say a big thank to Ann, Graham, Julie and Paul and for making our send off to Crete, a night to remember, brilliant crowd, so friendly its untrue, music policy great, just what the guests wanted, the floor was full all night with a great atmosphere, it was fantastic to be included and thats how they make you feel, you go in a stranger and come out with so many new friends, keep the faith. Birchley St. Marys Northern Soul Club
Went to Birchley St. Marys Friday 14th absolutely cracking night, just shows what a bit of time and effort will achieve, the organisers pulled out all the stops to make the place a success. I think this will be one of the top clubs on the circuit if last night was anything to go by. I'll certainly be going again.  Keep up the good work. KTF

Just like to say a big thanks for the hospitality and friendliness shown at this venue on our first (definitely not our last) visit.
Headed up the M6 on what was an even better run than up to Radlciffe three weeks ago - still dubious about fighting my way northbound on a Friday evening.- Journey time 69 minutes door to door - can't complain about that!!  
Main reason was to meet up with the North Wales crew - we arrived before most of em, found the place easily - despite not having one of them new fangled sat nav thingies - and was pleased to find that Birchley is a traditional Old style club with wall to wall wooden floor - bar one end , well staffed and attentive service throughout the night.
Stage at the other end - well decorated with photo's and posters hiding the decks and gubbins that feed the music out to us punters. A lot of time and effort has obviously gone into this considering this was only the second or third time at this venue I believe . Musically , a good mixture throughout the evening which helped to creat a wram and friendly stmosphere, have to say I didn't get any of th e Dj's names but all contributed admirably to what was a a highly enjoyable evening.
For the purists among you - the toilets were clean and tidy - though obviously I can only speak for the Male aspect here, but can't say I noticed Annie complaining - and she definitely didn't have soggy shoes when she returned from her visits !
Good to bump into one or two others from a variety of venues too and had some good chats whilst admiring the view from the front porch smoking area.
Boith of us sorry to leave at about 1:15 (work comitments- whats new there then  ) but we had a great time in good company and homely atmosphere - just what it's all about

Hiya, we've (Deb  & Carl from Rainhill) been twice now and rate Birchley St. Mary's better than any soul night we've been to in ages. The Monaco, near Wigan, was our favourite, but the music hasn't been up to much lately.  We both work Saturdays and have to rely on parents to babysit, so Fridays are usually a no no, but we love the venue and the DJ's play some blindin' tracks. Last Friday, 11th, was excellent and we'll definately be back.
